Quand Twitter traque les pédophiles

Un compte diffusait des contenus pédo-pornographiques. Il a été supprimé grâce aux utilisateurs.

La mobilisation, massive, a fonctionné. Jeudi, un compte Twitter diffusant des images à caractère pédo-pornographiques a été signalé par de nombreux utilisateurs du réseau social, ce qui a abouti à sa suspension dans l’après-midi.

"Account suspended (ndlr: compte suspendu en anglais)", pouvait-on lire en cliquant sur le compte de @many501611, repéré et dénoncé peu après 17h00 par de premiers tweets.

La plateforme officielle du ministère de l’Intérieur alertée

Elle est suivie par de nombreux autres utilisateurs et certains publient l'adresse internet de la plate-forme officielle du ministère de l'Intérieur dédiée à la dénonciation des contenus illicites d'internet, dont la pédo-pornographie.

Ce serait la première fois que ce service, mis en place par le ministère de l’Intérieur en 2009, est alerté pour un compte Twitter.

L’enquête peut commencer

Une fois reçus, les signalements sont pris en compte par la plate-forme qui, si elle le peut, en visualise le contenu, en définit le caractère illicite ou non, puis propose une qualification juridique.

Si le site concerné est situé en France, un service d'enquête de police ou de gendarmerie prend les investigations en charge avec, le cas échéant, l'ouverture d'une enquête préliminaire par le parquet concerné. S'il s'agit d'un site basé à l'étranger, le signalement est transmis à Interpol qui l'oriente alors vers les autorités judiciaires du pays défini.
